People in emergency situations don’t always have the time to wait for an elaborate, sustainable concept. Sometimes they need support right away. Again and again in the past, Deichmann has provided spontaneous help to people who have found themselves in need, for example:
- in 2002, after the Oder river flooded in eastern Germany, leaving many people homeless,
- after the Christmas 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean took the lives of several hundred thousand people, and
- after the 2009 hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico that devastated large portions of Haiti.
